Norseman Drill Bits vs. "Split Point"

I was looking at getting some of the Baron pen kits from Arizona and I noticed they sell Norseman drill bits for use with the kit. Woodcraft sells "split-point" bits for the Navigator (same pen kit so I've read). Is there an advantage to the split point over the Norseman or vice versa?
