Hi,
I've posted this on other forums, but thought I'd see what you guys thought.
This is a sideboard in Surian, which is a Red Cedar found on this side of the Pacific rim. The door panels are bookmatched and the whole thing has been finished in Scandinavian oil and Traditional wax (which is quite resistant to mildly rough treatment). Tools used were a 17" Band saw, Festool TS75, Domino, RO150 ROS and a DTS400 finishing sander. The timber was sander/sealed with the oil to 4000g.

Rob

Rob,

I think it looks great due to the simplicity. Just wondering...with the tools you listed, how many hours do you estimate were involved in the process?

Hi Matt,

A guesstimate.. It took about 6 days at around 3hrs approx/day, so about 18-25hrs.

Rob, Very nice job. 18 hours has got to be a world record for a piece like that! Any reason you didn't use a 4 door design? The 3 door design always seems slightly awkward to me,especially with respect to hardware placement. John

Very nice indeed. Impressive use of relatively few tools.

Very nice work. It's beautiful.

18 hours is amazing for that much work, and I don't care how many tools a person uses.

Once again very nice.

Thanx all,
John, the sideboard was made to fit a particular place in our house. My initial desire was a 4 door, but space won out.
Just to let you know, 18-25hrs is what I believe I finished this in. I'm not trying to pull the wool over your eyes.:) Surian is a very easy wood to work with and you can achieve a lot in an hour with easy timber and a domino.

Rob

Great! Not sure of the front verticle frame stile width...I would have thinned it out to duplicate the side. Love the wood and finish.
