Been making various doo-dads to give away this year. I still have a couple of more calls to make as well as some kaleidoscopes. Dunno about ya'll but I have had a heck of a time trying to find 13/16" bit from the kaleidoscope.

Nice stuff Dean, I really like the stoppers, neat idea. If I remember right, I think I got my 13/16" where I got the kaleidoscopes.

thanks. =)

Everytime I go to make another stopper I keep telling myself I won't make another goblet... and then it becomes another goblet. =)

My wife is threatening to not let me give any of them away.

I really like the form you've chosen on the pens. Interesting.:)

The problem is that our woodcraft in town is new and they have things just everywhere. Their inventory said they had some in stock but we could not find them anywhere in the store.

I am going to go back and look later this week.

Dean, you might look for an adjustable Spade bit I have one that will adjust up to 1 1/8", 'course I inherited it from my dad when he passed,' no tellin when it was purchased.

I honestly don't think a 13/16" brad point bit exists. I went back to WC today and looked around. The website and the catalog say a forstner bit... the instructions say brad point. I personally think a forstner would be a bad idea for trying to hog out that much wood. But... it's better than a spade bit which is the only other bit that i could find.

I've not seen an adjustable spade bit before.... Sounds interesting.

=) I think I stole it from someone else. =)

Actually... I think it was an issue of American Woodworker that gave me the bug. They had an issue that talked about practicing making miniature goblets and what not.

Nice looking work, Dean!

I gotta admit, I like doing goblets too. No real need to figure out how to reverse the piece to finish the bottom, smaller branches can be used as blanks, etc. Hollowing the bigger ones can get dicey, though... :)
