Now that my cutting board project is wrapping up and I am cleaning the shop up......

Can purpleheart be burned in a fireplace? Or is that a no no?

Shouldn't present a problem that I can think of...

You could try it, and then if you never post again, we'll know the answer is "no":o!

But really, Purple heart is one of the few woods where I keep the small pieces. I used some leftovers to make inlay strips this year.

Pretty pricey firewood. I have scraps of redheart that I've had for ten years that I just can't toss.

Last time I was in Woodcraft some goof was buying a purpleheart board and when the sales guy was talking about it...how it worked etc...the guy asked if he would be able to cut it with his SkillSaw!

These are just slivers from the end of the cutting board when I flushed the ends up.

Purpleheart is less than $4/bdft in my neck of the woods, I certainly burn the scraps once they are down to what I consider an unusable size. Right along side walnut, cherry etc.....
