Just missin' the sport...

...on this cold December morning. I have been a fan of local dirt track racing since the early sixties. Was involved in the journalism side of it for thirty years and also did tv, radio, announcing, public and press relations, publishing and a number of other things in the sport. Gave up all of it a handful of years ago and have now returned to just being a weekly fan at my local tracks. The clip below is from my usual Saturday night track, the New Egypt Speedway here in Central New Jersey. Someone posted it on a racing forum that I frequent and it got me pining for the warm weather already. Darn, it's going to be a long winter.

Fred, get yourself a good book, like the '60s books by Henry Gregor Felson - "Street Rod" or "Rag Top." They will help to remind you of your wasted youth and how winters, and life pass by much too fast.
