Can anyone recommend an impact driver that comes with the standard 1/4" hex chuck and an extra chuck or chuck adapter to accept drill bits of all diameters to 1/2" or so?

I'm looking at the Makita BTP140 http://www.toolbarn.com/product/makita/BTP140/ but I want to be able to use the 100s of bits I already have too.

Thanks for the help,

Sam

Get the 2 tool set. Makita offers a "lightweight" kit with 2 bats, drill & driver for ~$220 street. Also have the regular for ~$300. Biggest difference is the regular has larger battery (3 vs. 1.5 amp-hour not volts).

I have the lightweight kit & a 4 piece regular weight kit. Work great & the lightweight is easier on the hands.

Search "Makita 18V" on amazon.

I agree. I've got the new Makita 18v Li-Ion with the combo 1/2" chuck drill and impact driver, and its the favorite set I've had - super light for an 18v, powerful, and great batteries and fast charger. I've used my impact as a drill using shanked drill bits when I've forgotten my drill, but its not nearly as well suited for drilling.
