The shop dog has abandoned his work for a soft bed. What a life!

Looks just like my son's English Setter with a coat of red paint. Great dogs aren't they?

They sure know how to make themselves comfortable don’t they.

Really now, without an opposing digit, how much work did he get done? I'm sure with all that racket, he was having a difficult time getting his required 18 hours of sleep. Lucky he doesn't file a workers comp claim! :D

Our dog stays out of the shop, but I do have a shop cat. Seems like most of the wood passes her sniff test.

When he hangs out in here I have to step over him, he won't move even if I'm carrying a big load of material. It is funny how they sleep so many hours when they don't do much work. The other dog is more helpful, she barks when a customer or delivery shows up.

When Mr. Otis, the woodshop Springer Spaniel, was alive he had his own dog bed in the corner of my bench room. Being Emperor of the shop he rarely chose to use it but instead would always lay down on the cold concrete floor both Summer and Winter. Go figure.

When I die, I want to come back as one of you guys Dog's :)

Lost my dog a couple of years ago and still can't think about getting another one just yet. They sure do have a great life, don't they? What are the requirements? Be happy, eat, sleep, and maybe chase a squirrel or cat every now and again :) (and don't forget the off the books trips to the fast food joint for a burger that Mom's not supposed to know about ;) )

Let me introduce our Newfoundland, Colby. He's usually flat on his back, happily snoring away. Once in a while, I can get him up and looking a little bit respectable.

Even sitting up, he looks like he’s ready for a nap!
Great looking dog.

Being a sucker for shop dog photos, I thought I'd share mine. He'd rather I toss him the ball or his frisbee but he's always involved in whatever shop project I'm doing. I think it was radio host Bruce Williams who said "Never love something that can't love you back" (he was referring to someone loving their new car) and, IME, dogs always love you no matter what. I like my tools but I love my dog!

This is a pretty natural position for Maggie. She is one of the foster dogs living with us until her forever home shows up. Right now she is in the middle of heartworm treatment. Very painful for the 2 shots, and you are supposed to keep them quiet for about 4 weeks while they do their number on the heartworms. It's always touch and go during this time as they are not out of the woods so to speak during this time of quiet. Today Maggie is being good by resting. 77185 :D Jim.

Beautiful dog! And lazy too :D.

I put my 13 1/2 yr old Shepherd down this Summer. Such a good dog she was.

Your dog looks quite content on those pillows!

Kevin, we picked up our chocolate lab (post #3) from a rescue operation also. I think the rescue opps are one of the best ways to find a pet.

So far he looks like a great dog. He's not sure about the snow and today, (a huge Nor'East'a has hit) he wasn't sure he wanted to go out.

He's check'n the shop out now.

You lucky folks. I wish I had a shop dog. All I can seem to get are shop deer :D
At any given time I have various bucks and does wandering around just outside the shop or bedded down within 15 to 20 feet.
