I'm doing some trinkets for a local tourist shop and I was looking for a way of displaying them. The hooky bit glued to the back of a mirror has always seemed a bit dodgy to me and I couldn't be bothered to make a frame...not at that profit margin.
I remembered a plate stand my mum had years back, and a bit of maths later, here's the result:

Quick, incredibly cheap, and pretty useful for displaying things. Included in the file (x3 & v8 versions) are 50mm high; 100mm high; and 200 mm high sizes, which covers a reasonable range of sizes. All tabbed for 3mm material
Here's them in use:

The large piece is a 3kg(!) (that's 6lb+ for you 'merkins) slab of marble. That's about the upper weight limit though, and I certainly wouldn't risk it anywhere there's a chance of it getting knocked over.
