Presumably there's different methods for holding glasses in rotary devices, but mine works by means of a sliding end piece that clamps into position, thus holding the glass in place. The disc at the end is necessarily quite large to give a good grip on large or heavy glasses. This works quite well, down to a certain size of glass. For small shot glasses, the head is below the level of the disc at one end and the conical piece at the other. What usually happens is that the laser head smacks against one end or the other and stops the machine with an 'x-motor error'.

So. Some sort of extender is required, that keeps the glass parallel with both ends of the clamp.

After some unsuccessful experiments with smartie tubes and toilet roll holders, here's what I knocked up to address the problem. Works quite well.

And here's the cdr- x3 and v8 versions.
