OK, I suppose my imagination is just working overtime but looking into the bowl I see something – do you? Yeah, I know… I’ve been turning too many bowls!

This is maple 10 ¼” x 3” with a 3/8” rim rapidly tapering to a ¼” thick bowl. Included a few additional photos as the bowl looks very different from each side.

A harvest moon over the mountains and the lake:rolleyes: Great piece Steve. Don't you just love a great grain as it appears in your turning? You're one heck of a turner. Don't forget to visit the family.:D

As oriented, I see a small cove, canyonland background, and the sun in a glaringly bright sky. That it?
Nice bowl! Good form, too.

Good job on the bowl, but I kinda see the monster from my favorite horror flick. Creature from the Black lagoon.

Steve this is another winner, the grain and color combo's in that bowl are amazing, your work shows it well. Great job.

Although I seem to have a limited visual imagination on the image created by the figure I can't miss the great looking bowl you've created.
Congrats.

I bet that bowl was finished with spray lacquer (hic)!!:D

Oh wait it's not John's piece, hmmm maybe still. Nice piece by the way, and no I don't see anything in it, except maybe a scoop of nice cappuccino chunky chocolate chip ice cream. My idea at least matches the rain colorations!:D

COOL, the first view looks like a landscape that might have been done by Edvard Munch! (if you look up "the scream," you might see this guy as EXTRA funny)
Very nice!!!

After inhaling deeply, I see a masterpiece done by Vincent Van Gogh, entitled Moonlit Night at Canyon Lake.:)

All of the responses from your contemporaries are esactly the reson I still turn. The great variety of "visions" seen in that particular piece depict the marvel of what the creator hid in that particular chunk of tree. Once again, nice of you to bring it out. :D:D

Looks like a moon-lit winter night over the skating pond in Whoville.
