This bowl was cut from a 1-7/8" by 9" Syamore plank that I milled with the Alaskian small log mill a few years ago. I kiln dried in my solar kiln to 6-7 percent moisture content. The eyes are just an effect you get from humping the center of the bottom up. This is to get the maximum depth. Size is about 9" by 1-7/8" with a 1/4" wall thickness. Only 3 coats of finish for Sycamore, hand rubbed with 0000. Please critique. Thanks, Tim...

Other than the martian face staring back at you, it looks like a great bowl. It is very well balanced and has to be pretty light with the wall thickness and the wood being all the way dry. Nice job.

Nice job on the bowl Tim! Have to agree that it looks like a pair of eyes following you around the room! Pretty wood and a good looking finish!

Very pleasing simple (not in a bad way) shape. It is an attractive bowl
