Pecan crotch bowl

This is a little 8 x 3 inch Pecan bowl. The finish is antique oil buffed with all three wheels.

Some may remember about 4 moths ago I put out word here that their was a Pecan orchard near my house that was going to be demolished. I know myself and at least 5 others creekers took some wood out of the orchard before they leveled it. This is from that score.

I still have some of that Pecan to rough out, and more that's been roughed and is drying. One of these days I'll get around to finishing some of it.

Another good looking piece, it has the Vickery style to it, and that's not a bad thing, just pointing out that you do have a style of your own.

Very nice Mike in evey way! I don't know why but the foot really seems to belong on this piece. I've looked at it several times.....my mind and eye thinks it looks appropriate but can't explain why....:confused:

I can tell ya why I like the foot Ken. It's because it looks as though the bowl bottom is round and Mike has created a shallow cup for it to sit in.
