Does anyone know what the Surface feet per minute (blade speed) is on a
MM20? Anyone use it to cut aluminum? I have a small aluminum job to
do and I am wondering if I can use my MM20 as it is, with a different
blade. Anyone ever put as variable speed on a MM bandsaw?

Give MM a call tomorrow Leigh at 866-975-9663 and find out. They are there to assist you. I would discuss the aluminum issue also.

Good luck...

There should be no issue cutting aluminum on your saw "as is". Ideally, a dedicated carbide blade would be nice, but you can cut aluminum just fine with a higher tooth count blade and a slow, even feed rate.

A lot like cutting wood you want about 4 - 6 teeth in contact with the material at all times.
You can use compressed air as a coolant.

The chips may be hot and may damage your tires.

Thanks a bunch guys. I think I will call or e-mail MM as I would really like to know the sfm for the blade.
