Well, decided I better do something that was stable so I chucked up a piece of Holly I had. I'm pretty happy with this one. 5" tall by 5" at the widest point. Finished with 3 coats lacquer sanded to 600 and then buffed with wax. I need to get a photo booth setup so I can take decent pics.
It was going to be a lidded jar with a 1" opening with a finial but the bulk of the top had too many cracks and I had to keep opening the top up until I decided to just make it a pot.

That sure is pretty Brian! Lots of curl in that first photo! Great color and finish! Very nice work! I agree with you about the photos, You do nice work and I can tell you from personal experience - a decent photo setup helps out tremendously!

It is sooo nice to see someone maximize the beauty hiding in a block of wood. Good job. :)
