With the move this summer and most of my time having been spent at work or doing landscaping and other outdoor stuff, the tools have been pretty much idle. I finally finished up a couple small projects. Now that there's snow on the ground I'll be able to devote some time to building a new shop so I can do some larger pieces.

The coat rack is mahogany with SS hardware. Finish is Danish Oil and wax. It was a quick build for my daughter's apartment.

The frame for the tiles is some more of the curly QSWO I got a while back. Finish is also Danish Oil and Wax.

The tile holder looked like a window when I first saw it. Very nice.

And it's nice to do things like the coat rack a step up from utilitarian - adds some class to a place.

The Frame looks great, love the grain.

Did about the same thing for a coat rack for SWMBO.

Rod,

Good job on a neat looking frame. Did you use a natural Danish Oil or was it colored?

I used Watco Black Walnut Danish Oil. Once it was dry I applied a thin coat of shellac to seal it up and then used paste wax. The figure in the wood is really amazing. The photo doesn't do it justice.
