I am looking for a quick way to make an outline that is, say, 1/8" bigger all around than the original object. I do it by hand right now, it is quite a pain. Anybody got any ideas? I'm stuck.

1. Try the contour tool in the effects menu.

2. Try the creat boundary tool in the effects menu.

3. Try the outline tool experimenting with the various options.

Hi Martin

Simply go to the Interactive Contour Tool (you'll find it on the left of your page with the rest of the Interactive Tools) and select whether you want a contour to the inside of the exsisting object or the outside, then just put in the amount of offset and your done, you'll have a new outline around your object, press Control K to break them apart.

Hope this helps.

Also, don't forget after using the contour tool you'll need to go to "Arrange" and then "Break Contour Group Apart" if you plan to use it by itself.

Scott, pressing CTRL K on your keyboard does this, saves alot of time.

Thanks, all. Most useful. Now I have to figure out whether I can haul that back to my CAD or not. Or maybe I just do it all in Corel.
