View Full Version : Another Walnut NE

Here's another I finished up the other day. Arkysaw walnut about 8" long, 7" at widest, and almost 6" tall. Walls are a fat 3/8".....or skinny 1/2" Finish is AO and Beall buffed (skipped White wheel). I'm not pleased with the foot/bottom, but like the flared top.

Barry I don't see anything not to like, a lot of nice grain the shape is good and the finish is too. Nice job.

Yeah...I don't see anything wrong with the foot...and the flare is great. What's not to like?:confused: This is one of the nicest NE's I've seen. I mean really! :)

What John said. A really nice piece. There's enough going on with grain, NE and form, no need to fancy up the foot.

I like this one also Barry! Beautiful rich walnut color, lots of bark and I also like the finish - it's not so glossy that you lose the details of the wood! Nice work!

I really like this too. I've seen this shape a few times and the turner usually calls it a "trumpet" shape. If that helps call it a trumpet and run with it. Nothing to dis-like here.
