I missed out at the last second on a Bedrock 607 in good condition today on that auction site. I was wondering how much you guys think it is worth?

I've seen 607's in really good condition sell for $300-$400, and I'm sure that some have gone for significantly more...

The Bedrocks are fine, but I wouldn't pay the kind of premium that they seem to command right now. Functionally, they are only marginally better than the Bailey planes. For the money, I think the Bailey planes are a comparative bargain, and if I really want to spend that kind of money, I'd rather have a new LN which is a modern Bedrock with a ductile iron body and the A2 iron.

$150-$200 for a 607 in nice shape. I sold one for $185 a while back. I didnt buy a really nice 608C at the MWTCA meet for $150 and have been kicking myself since. -Clint

Thanks for the replies. I knew Bedrocks went for a premium and bid up to $140. When I saw who outbid me, I knew it was worth more...;)

I think the increasing popularity of Lie-Nielsen planes has put a ceiling on the prices of old Bedrocks. I sold a 608C on ebay this summer for $150.00. I was hoping it would get $200.

Now, if I had seen a 608 for $150 I would have snapped it up. Seems like all the Bedrocks I had been watching went for a lot more than that...

i know.. there was nothing wrong with it either. 98% japaning and most of the blade was left. No cracks in the bed. Handles were clean..I'm not sure why no one bid on the thing.
