Got a Worksharp 3000 for my birthday Thursday. I had tried a couple of times over the past few years to set up a plane or two with very little luck. Tried wet stones and a VS grinding wheel.
This is a picture of my results after playing with the Worksharp for less than an hour.

It's a pretty crappy old Montgomery Ward plane and I still have a lot to learn about setting up the plane, but those are the closest things to good shavings I've ever managed. I took a few of the biggest ones out to dinner with me last night. To my disappointment, none of the other couples shared my excitement.
