View Full Version : My first gloat

Well I don't get to gloat too much around here but I get to now. This is also the reason I haven't been very active and haven't been turning at all lately. Maybe after I get the hang of poop patrol and burping, I'll find enough time to get back into the shop. And yeah, the fountain of youth has already got me.

I of course will have a lot more to say about him in the future, he was born 12/3 and is my first.

BIG congrats, Kevin, to you and LOYL! Good lookin' boy!

Looks like you'll have your hands full for a while. Turning can wait.

BTW, they know what causes that now. ;)

Build yourself a sign and read it regularly:

Hug 'em early and often!

Going into production now that you have the prototype??

the poop thing is easy..... Lift, wipe, drop, and roll.

Changing diapers can be an adventure, especially with boys.

When do you think you will buy him his first spindle gouge?

Thanks everyone!! I have to admit he might be the perfect baby ;)
He has already had a quick tour of the shop just so he knows all of the toys he'll get to use when he's bigger.
I was a little surprised about the hair myself, but I saw some of my baby pictures and found we looked a lot alike.

That's a pretty good job you did there, fairly symetrical with some interesting wing sections and a little natural edge on top. The foot section looks a little crooked but maybe thats just the angle of the picture. Interesting fabric finish on this one. Not really my style but it seems to go well. I think its a keeper. ;):D

Congrats to you and your wife Kevin.

Congratulations!!! One day you may think of the first thought I had when you mentioned poop patrol, "Wow, Have I really been changing diapers for 7 years:confused:..." and there isn't and end in sight. Okay, so that was a bad pun

Hey that's one of the greatest gloats on this forum. Well done!! Ohhh but wait a little while before you try another one.

Kevin McPeek
12-10-2007, 6:24 PM
Thanks again guys!!
I know a lot of us moan and groan when the mother-in-law comes for a visit, but holy cow I am glad she is here. My sanity would be in jeopardy, not that I had a whole lot to give before.
I am amazed the amount of poop that can come out of such a small thing. It seems like when ever I change him he decides he's not done with one thing or another or both. At 4 in the morning its not nearly as easy to laugh at as it is during the day. But what can you do...

Robert McGowen

Why are YOU up at 4 am? I thought you were married. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D

Kevin,

Congratulations!!! Maybe now I will have a chance to catch up to the number of turned pieces you have created ;-).

It only gets better from here. Just wait till the potty training is over, you'll be wondering why you didn't start having them earlier ;-).

Kevin McPeek
12-10-2007, 11:29 PM
Robert,
Right now I'm only up because I have a couple weeks off work. We'll see if that changes though... I can hope.
Martin,
I'm easy to catch up to, Mike on the other hand is a machine. I have a couple weeks off at the end of the year so I hope to knock out some turning then though. We'll see what kind of schedule my son has in store for me though.

Congrats.

I have three and I would gloat every day if I could. Trust me when I say this "the first three month ( of your first child ) take exactly three months. The rest fly by".

On a side note my 2 year old just got a gift of the "Black and Decker" toy tool box, now he walks around the house saying "my tools, my tools" porbably picked that up from me.:D

Kevin McPeek

I think Kim would have been surprised if he had!

I think she feels like he came out with a whole set of tools, not just a gouge.
