I'm stocking up on 5" ROS sandpaper for my Bosch.

Any experience on the best paper?

I have been ordering from klingspor dot com lately.

They have a very large selection.

I prefer the Klingspor heavyweight k/o disks and the stearate k/o disks are second choice.

I use Mirka

I’ve been using Mirka with good results.
I’m sure that Klingspor has their act together today but I bought a bunch of PSA ROS disks form them once and had to use a heat lamp and dang razor blade to get the backing off of half of them. I’ve been leery of Klingspor since.

I use Mirka

That's what I'm using as well. I got them from Amazon.

Rhynogrip from Industrial Abrasives. It is fast cutting, doesn't leave swirls and is inexpensive.

I use Mirka Gold mainly, and I love it. It lasts a long time, at a fraction of the 3M cost. I also have some of the Rhino Grip in the finer grits 1200-2000 and it seems to do a good job as well.

Thats where I got my last batch.

$30.00 a box paper, on sale for $10.00. Something like that.

That was a couple of months ago.

Industrial Abrasive products, because frankly they out perform any one else I have tried and they also have excellent prices, delivery and support. I order all of their product off the net, see below for link:

Here's another vote for Industrial Abrasives and their Rhynogrit line.

I use norton. They last a long time and are fair priced.

I've been using the Rhynogrip as well. They perform well and are an excellent value.

The best paper I've ever used is Festools paper for their sander. I don't know if it will work with yours though. They should make paper for other products than their own.

Rhynogrip and Mirka are nose and nose, coming into the finish line.

Rhynogrip is just a little cheaper so I try it first. I got to the checkout line, got a warning about trouble with some browsers, and then it emptied my cart.

So I looked over my shoulder and there was Mirka.
Amazon! I can do that in ONE CLICK!

Done!

I do the same thing. If the vender elects not to let me use the equipment that I choose then I elect to do business with someone else. I guess that some businesses never learn.

I've used a lot of Norton 3X. Very satisfied. Mirka and Klingspor are good as well. I'd like to try some Abranet.

Anybody tried Black-Max from Woodworker's Supply?

No one has yet mentioned Abranet, a relatively new product from Mirka. Woodcraft has been carrying this product since last summer. Lasts ten times as long as Norton, and because it has a mesh backing, as long as you have even modest dust collection it sucks all the sawdust through the mesh. Wonderful product. Kinda expensive, but because it lasts so long I recommend it highly.

Personally, I like the Mirka much better than Norton or Klinspor. I find it to be more consistent and easier to control - I often use my ROS to smooth handrail joints between 'roughing' them in with bunny planes/chisels/carving tools and finish sanding them by hand, so control and predictability is very important to me. Mirka seems to clog less, tear less, and doesn't lose big chunks of 'sand' in the 80 grit version like I've experienced with Norton.

I like Mirka Gold also. Have bought a few boxes from my local Western Tool Supply store whose prices are equivalent to Amazon (on the sandpaper at least) w/o the shipping. There's a Western Tool Supply in San Bernadino it looks like.

3M 216U Fre-cut gold. Outlasts everything else on the market.

One vote from Mirka Gold from me. SMC turned me onto this stuff about 7 months ago and I haven't used anything since. For the price, it's the best value in sandpaper in my opinion, especially when you consider the rack prices for Hook and Loop pads at the big box stores.

Mirka is really good!
