I realize this is a woodworking forum, and this is actually related to construction; however, when folks are building their shops, this information might come in handy. When the commercial duty "studgun" I inherited bit the dust, I replaced it with a mid-priced Remington .22 caliber driver. I used the Remington for several remodel jobs and it was okay, but when anchoring 2X4 wall plates to concrete floors, I found the pins would very often not penetrate deeply enough in concrete that was very hard.
I recently bought a Ramset .27 caliber Cobra driver and this thing flat does the job. If you're in the market for a powder actuated pin driver, spend a little extra money ($199) and get a .27 caliber model--you'll be glad you did.

Sounds like good advice. Thanks.
