Is this a hand plane gone wild? A super wide surface, that a razor sharp blade shears a thin layer off? It doesn't seem like a deli slicer method would produce those kind of results, because then it would imitate what a blade does, or is it?
The cool thing is that if it works like a hand plane, then the woodworking tradition, reserved for the advanced, old world workers, and David Marks is to plane your final surface, getting a surface unobtainable by sandpaper. Is that what it is? If so, it's a Wow rating.
