I need your opinion on that synthetic acrylic material created for pen turnings. As many ask for new aspects I have made several samples and that is the first of series of trial.
The model used for the pen is “Europe”.
I would appreciate very much if you could tell me if:
- you like it a lot
- you like it
- you are indifferent
-you don’t like it at all

Many thanks again and have a nice sunday

I like the colors very much. Kinda wish there was more of an angle to the striping....but that's personal taste and nitpicking. Very earthy and classy though.

That is a nice looking pen. Nice soft tones to it. Well done.

Many thanks to all four of you and to your encouraging comments.
John Hart: I will try another fabricating process, for the time being There is no way I can make diagonal stripes, but I thin that, if I modify the process from manufacturing cylindrical bars to manufacturing plaques, it would then be possible to cut the blank in diagonal. Thanks for the hint

Claude---

Did I understand correctly that you fabricated the blank for this pen? If that's the case, I'm in awe! That's a lovely looking piece---the material, to my eye, makes a classic match with the hardware.

-a bit of a pet peeve. Now I know I'm not one to speak concerning spelling and grammar but this is a pet peeve of mine. (I don't know why)

Synthetic: sense of synthesis, the combination of two or more parts,

Acrylic: a synthetic polymer compound fiber that contains at least 85% acrylonitrile

Synthetic Acrylic = redundancy

And that's all I have to say about that. :o

Oh, by the way, I really really like the pen.

I like the pen. I looks nice from here but without much detail may be my monitor or or the lighting on your pen. but for what I can see I like it.
Where is the material from?
Thanks

The new one I present below is one of our samples as well

Oh, by the way, I really really like the pen. Thank you Jon for both the compliment and the grammar lesson. I’ll revert to you when I write German, Spanish, French and Italian… I’m sure I make the same if not worse mistakes ;) :)

I do know you prefer to turn wood, and so do I. However, as the market ask for acrylics as well, and that often we find some quite flashy I was thinking to the potential customers who might prefer something more “conventional”.
Here is another material.
For the top pen I used the entire “satin pearl” Kit, while for the lower one I tuned the top end with the same material.
Could I know your impressions.
Many thanks in advance and I apologise to bore you with acrylics but your views are quite important to me.

These last ones look like they're designed to go with pin striped business suites. Both are class acts, for sure.

I think the misspelled abbreviation was intended to indicate Rocky Mountain Sheep Horn, but who knows for sure except the original writer!

Claude, those two pens do look nice. If I were to offer a suggestion, considering that you're fabricating your own blanks, how difficult would it be to add some marbleizing (sp?) to the black/silver two-tone? The colors are just lovely, but IMHO, they truly do beg for some more pronounced figure.

Thank you for the hint... but we have done a "marble sample too" ;)
Now we are trying a new technique for producing it, rather than cylindrical bars we are going to try to make plaques... I'll keep you informed:)

Claude, this one has a nice look to it but is almost clinical, not my favorite. I think this one would be better with more figure also.
