Aromatic Red Cedar

Any info, and/or websites about turning and finishing red cedar. Conflicting reports sat to turn it thin to avoid drying splits OR turn it thick, let it dry then re-turn. ANy recommendations on certain finishes?

all I can tell you is watch the heat sanding it is easy to get heat checks that dont come out with sanding trust me on this. I even got them with to much heat with firiction polish
