ok I apologize if this was answered somewhere, but I did my search on the forum and had found nothing, so here is my question.

I am searching for a laser rubber supplier for stamps production that:
1. Sell and ship to Canada
2. Accept Paypal.

So far I got:

www.laserbits.com (http://www.laserbits.com) They don't take Paypall, but they ship to Canada, but you have to guest shipping pricing.

www.signwarehouse.com (http://www.signwarehouse.com) They take Paypall, but they don't sell to Canada.

www.jonsonplastics.com (http://www.johnsonplastics.com/) They don't take Paypall, and .......still trying to find rubber on their site....:(

I was not able to find other suppliers with a search in Google. any help or suppliers recommendation would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ben

Try,

Western stamp and supplies.

www.Westernstamp.com (http://www.Westernstamp.com) I am not sure about the Canada thing or the paypal thing but they are suppliers of the raw materials.

You can also try millenium Marking supplies http://www.millmarking.com/

Hi Ben;
I'm sure you don't want to hear this, but lasering rubber stamps is worse than getting two root canals without novacaine! It's dirty, smelly, and not very profitable . The odors will drive your neighbors crazy and the smell of burning rubber will attach itself to everything. The inside of your laser will be covered with little black granules that will stick to everything.
All that aside-try it to get it out of your system once and for all and then go back to doing something worthwhile. Send me your address and I'll send you
some rubber material- for nothing!- just to get it and the memory of it out of my home!
Good Luck
Best regards;
George

So even this Grey rubber (http://www.laserbits.com/ppanel.php3?SELECT=Premium%20Laser%20Rubber&partnum=RUS%20001) smells ?

I take all input by the way, thanks George.

Yep... it all stinks.

For those that don't take PayPal, get yourself a PayPal debit card (simple application). It's linked to your Paypal acct and seen as a debit / cc by any vendors.

I HATE payPal though... and their eBay owners! :D

We supply lasered stamps to a rubber stamp shop next door. The WORST smelling, nasty, evil, devil incarnate stench is from the "low odor" laserable rubber. I put $700 bucks worth of charcoal and HEPA filtration on the exhaust, and the guys in the bike shop next door are still threatening to wrap a bent frame around my neck! I hope you own forty acres three miles from the nearest neighbor.

So far, the least offensive (subjective, of course) has been from Millennium Marking, gray with a thickness of .110 inches. The comparison is equal to standing behind one bovine with gas rather than being downwind of a sewer treatment plant.

If anyone knows of laserable rubber that IS low odor, please pass on the source....

Paul, Ben;

[Looks like my idea of doing my own stamps will go to the garbage can then.]

Ben, Paul's suggestion might be the answer. Regarding working at night, I burn stamps after the neighboring shops close and the grumpies have gone home. I think of it as a perverse revenge! :p

I'm going to try the polymer. Paul, thanks for the tip!

Montreal... Why?

Ben

Just curious.. You should have some local suppliers in Montreal.. Although they 'are' getting fewer and fewer.. Superiour used to be the big player, but they closed up in Canada, and moved everything to California.. Millennium Marking is in Toronto, and stocking many of Superiour's previous brands...

I have found that http://www.cosco2000.com/ Is a great supplier. I do not know if they take paypal. Everyone on here says that the smell is bad? I have a great vacuum system and there is very little smell inside out outside the building. The inside of the laser does NOT get trashed with small particles of rubber. I have no problem at all lasering rubber. If you contact then tell them you want a sample kit shipped out. you will get about 4 to 6 per inked stamps and about 10 sheets of A4 rubber.

The rubber they use from the packaging is COLOP self inking stamp. it is Lasergummi 297 X 210 X 2.3 MM I love the stuff.

Ben,

Give a call to "Canadian Engravers Supply Company Ltd." (CESCO). You can check their web site for info and contact.

It's ok, I purchase the polymer brand from Jackson Marking Products, (credit card).

I was aware of the Canadian Engravers Supply Company, but was not empress with their "you need to call us for products order, kind of service". I know that It is not as hard these days to put some pricing and a web site to order products, . So when a company force you to call for an order, I find that strange and annoying.

Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Ben
