I have seen some footings on chests/cabinets and other pieces such as the ones on this thread:

http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?p=705825#poststop

(beautiful pieces btw on the thread, so i hope he doesnt mind me linking to it)

Can someone point me to some threads/literature on construction of these styles of footings? I have seen methods for a single arc swept style footing, but with the 2 curves on this, I was trying to mimic some furniture in my house with this style and can't seem to find info on construction.

Thanks in Advance.

It's called a roman ogee foot. Cut the cove by clamping a fence diagonally across your table saw and run the piece diagonally across the blade. Work slowly with light cuts and a good sharp blade. the roundover on the other side is pretty easy if you miter off most of it with the TS and hand plane to a scribed line. Cut the profile in a piece of scrap and use that to check progress w/ the hand plane. Hope this helps.

I think you need a subscription to this part of the site, but try it anyway.

Here is a PDF of the same thing. the feet are at the end of the article.
