This box is 2 5/8 inches in diameter by 2 3/4 inches high. Oil sanded and burnished bee's wax finish.
The wood came from a nearby Inn, it had been hung with lights and the slate colored staining is probably from the nails that held the lights.
The grain is straight and the sap wood and staining are pretty straight too.

Very nice indeed. Great shape and colors. Try taking one more picture with a bit darker background. Either my monitor has a lot contrast or the picture.

Interestingly small. The footer seem so thin, did you turn it like that or was there some sanding off the bottom?

Beautiful wood George! I really like the simple form on this one - seems to match the wood! Nice work!

SANDING???!!! (yes), but only a little, I like to turn thin, when I can,
I would have made it bigger but the wood "woodn't" let me (too small).:D
