PC 371K Sander Gets Hot

I have the PC 371K sander which I really like, http://www.deltaportercable.com/Products/ProductDetail.aspx?ProductID=15062
When I am using it to do some end grain cutting board, the cooling fan air and the back of the sander get so hot it is really uncomfortable to touch or let the air blow on your fingers. This would be for 2-4 minute intervals.
I am letting the sander do the work and not using very much pressure.
Has anyone else had this problem or is it the norm?

I just found out this problem this weekend. I have had the sander since Christimas 2006 and the is the first time I have given it much use. Same project as yours, end grain cutting boards. It gets VERY hot. I was going to take it in for warranty work this week. Anyone else with this issue?
