Does anybody know how to print an individual message out of a thread?

At another place now gone, I could print messages but here at the Creek the entire thread (or at least the part visible on the screen) prints out.

Any ideas?

I'll bet that Keith/Aaron have another/better way of doing this, but just doing a simple "copy/paste" into a Word doc or similar, would enable you to get exactly what you want from the page. You then just print from the local document.

Hello all!

You'll notice at the bottom of the thread listing there
is a link called 'Show Printable Version'. What this does
is load a thread without all of the graphics.

If you want to print just a single post, add this to the
end of the URL:

<b>&perpage=1</b>

For example, this thread is:
<a href="http://www.sawmillcreek.org/printthread.php?s=&threadid=701">http://www.sawmillcreek.org/printthread.php?s=&threadid=701</a>

and I change it to:
<a href="http://www.sawmillcreek.org/printthread.php?s=&threadid=701&perpage=1">http://www.sawmillcreek.org/printthread.php?s=&threadid=701&perpage=1</a>

Then, you can page through the thread, 1 post at a time,
until you get to the one you want.

Try it!

Hi Dave,

Select everything you want to print (pictures and all) with your mouse. Then press Ctrl-P or go to File --> Print to open the print box. In the print box, check off "Selection" under Page Range in the lower left of the box. Click Print. This will print only what you highlighted with the mouse.

Instead of printing, you can also copy what you have selected into other documents (press Ctrl-C or go to Edit-->Copy). I usually copy things of interest into an email and then mail it to myself. I keep them filed in my email and can identify them by the Subject line that I included. Then I can print them at will if needed.

Hey, I qualified my remark earlier that Keith/Aaron would have a better way of doing it. I was right. Actually, all that's been mentioned here will work. Now you have a choice as to your preference.
