Hello,
I'm new to the forum and would like help with plantation shutters I'm
building.I've built 2 sets for 31" windows I've hung one set and am finishing the other now.The last window is 93" wide and I've decided to build these like bifold doors with four panels. The only problem i have is deciding whether
to suspend from a track like bifold doors or make a channel in the bottom of window opening for support to ride in. I have access to a machine shop and teflon block to make the support and i am leaning this way for simplicity and appearance.
I would like your opinions for this maybe there are other ways to do this or problems I am not seeing with the support and channel method.
thanks for your help.
Chris

I finished three windows that were each 59 high and 72 wide. Four panels was the only way to go. Since there wasn't much clearance, I had to make a frame and attach to the wall. The frame was roughly 2" x 2" stock that was run through a router several times. I hung the doors in pairs from the side. Even though they are somewhat heavy, I have had no problems with sagging.
