This is the second time I have been unable to open an ai file from a customer. I have read everything Corel says to do to import these but I keep getting an error. I have X3 - anybody have thoughts what I'm doing wrong? Thanks for any advise! I need to get this going!
If I can attach it for someone to try, let me know

Attach the file and I'll give it a try.

There are certain .ai files created in CS2 that Corel 12 will open but X3 will not. I reported it to Corel and they suggested I use 12 then save and open in X3 which of course I was already doing but it's an extra step and wastes time.

Thanks Mike - I thought I knew how to attach. How do I send this to you?

Just hit the reply button leave a short message and go to the "manage attachment" in the next lower box then upload the file.

I have both CS2 and CS3. Attach them and I'm sure someone can get them imported for ya.

I'm getting an "uploading Error" - ai isn't in the list so it may be rejecting it. Sorry - now what?

If you can't get it to import as-is, I can open it in illustrator and resave it in a format that will import. It could be that there are linked bitmap images within the file.
Cheers
