Had fun this afternoon turning this Christmas present. It's maple and is about 7 inches in diameter and 2 inches high.

That is a nice piece. The walls are nice with that rim. I would not dare making a bowl straight like that but now that I look at yours I'll reconsider. I like how it's done.

Looks like that would make a good cereal bowl, Greg. Nice rim detail, too. I need to try to make a set of those.

Nice finish, beautiful wood and excellent craftsmanship. Don't put candy in it unless it's wrapped.:D

Thanks for all the nice feedback. I wanted to repeat the lip on the inside, but had some terrible tear out and had to give up on that idea. The sides were getting a little thin. Next bowl will be from a chunk of walnut I have had much too long! :D

Beautiful wood Greg, I like the rim on this one as well.:)
