While I own a couple of shoulder/bullnose planes (specifically a Clifton 410 and a Record 077) I had never seen a Record 073 in person...until my new acquisition arrived on my doorstep last night. I guess I should have been tipped off by the overly heavy box but I was completely unprepared for just how HUGE that sucker is! I thought it would be just a longer 077 but .....This is the Barry Bonds of shoulder planes! Next to my other shoulder planes this thing just looks ginormous!
That extra mass is going to come in handy cleaning tenons.....
