I am looking for some basic puzzle templates for the little ones in my family. Would anybody be kind enough to share some ideas? Thank you, Happy Thanksgiving!

http://shopofarpop.com/FP/fppuzzle.html has some good ones for the younger kids. Send them through VectorMagic for cutting files. If you see something you like and have trouble getting a good cutting file PM me. How old are the kids. I may have some things more age appropriate.
And Happy Thanksgiving to you.

It has a couple puzzle overlays that you can use to cut up stuff. Already in vector format.

As far as a material to use - is 1/8" tempered hardboard (masonite) appropriate? What wattage would it take to cleanly vector cut the pattern? Is burning a problem?

On our Epilog Mini 24 - 45 watt, the setting that works good is 20 speed, 100 power and 600 frequency. Best setting I have found yet for that hardboard.

I plan on trying out those puzzles on that stuff too.

Later!

I highly recommend 1/8" MDF. It works great in this application.

Glad to be able to share. These are in the style of a child's puzzle with big pieces that fit inside of a frame and with the outline of the pieces marked on the backing. See attached Corel 12 file.

Did these for my sister's twin 3 year old girls. Drew the lines with the freehand tool. Added the shapes and letters to help make it a little more educational:).

We added the girl's picture (rastered onto the pieces before they were cut, using Photograv) so when they completed the puzzle they had a picture of themselves.

Used 1/8 baltic birch, a quick swipe of sandpaper to round over the edges.

Free to all of the Creek to put to good use.
