View Full Version : Wax on Teak Oil?

I have recently completed a bed for my adult daughter. I built it from walnut given to me by the wife of a dear friend who cut the tree down 30 years ago and who passed away several months ago (I add this detail only to indicate that this is very special wood to me). I have applied a couple coats of teak oil and it looks beautiful. I am wondering - should I leave as is? Rub a coat of wax on it? Or apply some other topcoat? I am hoping to maintain the beauty of the wood without gloss.
Guidance would be much appreciated.

If you like the look, there is no need for the wax. But if you want a "controlled" sheen, the wax can help you accomplish that.
