Hi I need several hinges that will open shelves that fold down on a side of a box. These will be used in a RV. One is a box that the dog crate goes under and on top theres two fold out tables that hang on the side. The other is a ski boot box with one fold out table and the other needs to be a stronger hinge to support someone resting there boot on it with foot in it to strap in.
I guess the PDF explains it.
I looked at rockler and woodworkers hardware I did not see it. I saw alot that opened box tops.
Thanks

Would folding shelf brackets work?

Here's a hinge that will lock up and fold down 90 degrees. Table Leaf Hinge (http://www.hardwaresource.com/Store_ViewProducts.asp?Cat=430)

The idea works, there just too long. My shelves are anywhere from 6-12 inch deep.

I think they will work. I wish it had a weight rating on them.

Give them a call, they might know the weight rating or tell you who made them so you can ask. You can always do this: http://www.home.earthlink.net/~us71na/craft_table3.jpg

or this:

To hold up the shelves. The leaf on the cabinet folds down flat against the side when not in use.

So theres nothing else out there? This one hinge is my only choice?

Maybe pic will help. Ive tried woodworkershardware.I found drop leaf hinges but none that stay open. They only drop table down.I just need a system even if its more than just a hinge.75681

Leevalley suggested Rule Joint Hinges but she wasnt sure if they locked open.
She also suggested Four position folding brackets which will work on 2 of four leafs. The other two leafs are shorter than 12 inch ( 6 an 8).

The table leaf hinges they have fold 180 and not 90 so they wont work.

I would think these would be easier to find. I guess I will do a search for RV hardware or Boat hardware.

You might want to take a look at the Hafele hinges. I took a look and think there may be one that fits your need. www.hafele.com (http://www.hafele.com)

Thanks you, Lee Valley was actually working on T day. Which I guess isnt celebrated withour northerly neighbors. So they helped me with some specs on there drop leaf hinges.Specifically there weight support which is 88lbs.Second if thye can work at only a90 degree turn also, they said yes. I ordered 3 pairs, shipping was 30 for UPS blue service. Get them in 2-3 business days. Client needs the piece fast so there paying.:D

Thanks
