I would think the fumes from it couldn't be healthy, but I'm unsure. Having just turned a pen tonight, anything that smells that bad has to be bad for you.

I did use a vapor mask - thanks SWMBO.

I'd have to agree on this one. I'm not allowed to turn acrylic blanks inside anymore because my mom says the odor will give me some type of lung disease. I have to wheel the lathe outside to fill the orders!

I did get alergies when I started turnig pens can't tell if it was the acrilics or exotic wood or both.
On the other the smell of it does not bother me at all. Can't say I like it but don't think is that bad.
Anyway when in doubt be safe and don't risk it.
