DELTA 20-959LX - any user feedback

I see that Delta is finally delivering this drill press. The two way tilting table will be great for chair making - anyone now using this drill press?

Feedback? Does it live up to its long promised hype?

Would to upgrade my old "Orbit" - early model Jet.

I'd heard the 20-959LX won't arrive till after the new year. Saw the 17-959L at a local Rocklers (Amazon has 'em too) .................. nice fit and finish. The 20-950 is supposed to be arriving now .............haven't seen any yet.

I didn't know that, last I saw Amazon was selling and I thought showed immediate shipping. I guess we will continue to wait.....

Amazon shows the 20-950 in stock now. Delta's website (in the FAQ section) said iirc, some issues with the 20-959LX have delayed it's production till next year.

Delta's website FAQ says it's delayed now until late '08 or maybe '09.

That Delta Drill Press is already ~18 months late shipping & it continues to slide. I decided, after all their problems, I wouldn't touch a new on a bet. I bought a Steel City instead. I've only had it about a month & haven't used it a lot yet, but it's definitely a nice machine & has the 6" stroke the Delta advertised.
