This bowl is 15.5" d x 6.5" h. It was turned partially wet (from a standing dead tree) and is somewhat warped. Some parts of the wood were very soft and difficult to cut smoothly. I made several bowls from this tree, hackberry is a great wood for turning.

Very nice piece of wood. Seems like you've done justice to it. The bowl ooks great. Are you going to return later when fully dry.

I like it Dennis! Beautiful wood and a nice full shape to the bowl! The warp adds even more charactor to the bowl! Very nice work!

Agree about hackberry. If you have not done so already, try a little BLO on a spalted sample piece (NOT on your bowl first) and see if it enhances the contrast a bit. Let dry at least overnight before continuing the finish process.
