I picked up a Swanson Accur8 8" folding square today for $5.60 on clearance @ Lowes. Normally it's around $30. Not sure if all stores have these for the same clearance price, but at $5, I had to try it out... and to be honest, it's been extremely useful. Folds up to fit in an apron pocket nicely, then snaps out to 45 degrees to set up the TS for miters, then back to 90 to re-square it. No searching for other squares, or setting a t-bevel, or any of that business... I also checked it against an engineer's try square and couldn't see light at all, even when I exerted some pressure on the blade part of it.

One drawback: The label is a sticker that wraps around the steel blade part of it, and it just would not come off cleanly. Major pain in the ass, but nothing that soaking it for an hour in lacquer thinner couldn't fix.

Yeah, it looks pretty useful, but darn! I paid $11.99 on clearance!
