Hi my 10" Jet didnt come with wrenches to take blade off. Its a 5/8 arbor. My calipers said .88 for nut and to hold arbor 1.04. Does anyone know what sizes for this saw, I dont have either open end wrench of this size.I know its bigger than 3/4.

Thanks

You should have gotten at least one wrench, especially if you bought new. You can order them directly from Jet...that's what I did when I wanted a second one for the Jet cabinet saw I used to own. They cheerfully sent it out...without requesting payment, even!

They sound like metric sizes to me.I would say a number 23 and 27.

On my Jet cabinet saw there was a thin, flat wrench supplied that has an open end of 23 mm at one end and a box end on the other end of 27 mm. Any 27 mm wrench will work for the arbor nut. But you will need a thin, flat wrench, like the one that Jet supplies, for holding the arbor. I use the Jet wrench for holding the arbor, and a 27 mm Craftsman open end/box wrench for the arbor nut. You can buy one (or two) of the wrenches from Jet. I suppose you could grind down a 23 mm open end wrench to fit on the arbor flats.

Thanks I called Jet.She said theres one wrench double sided for $7ish. I ordered it. I guess you hold the arbor with wrench of choice.

I use a Blade-Loc to hold the blade and the wrench that came with the saw or a crescent wrench on the arbor nut.

I use a 7/8 box wrench on my Jet. It could and probably is metric but when it comes to larger sizes there's a lot of overlap.

That's interesting. Maybe Jet uses different sizes of arbor nuts on different models. A 7/8" box wrench is not even close on my Jet cabinet saw - it might take a 1-1/16" box wrench on the arbor nut, but I don't have one to try it. As I said earlier, I use a 27mm open end/box wrench on the nut, which is very close to 1-1/16". Hmmm.

Dave,

I have Jet's contractors saw, their cabinet saw my have a larger nut given its higher hp.

Had the same problem. 1 1/16" works just fine. Dick B.
