I am bothered by the lack of separation in the forums. The http://www.sawmillcreek.org/images/statusicon/forum_new.gifhttp://www.sawmillcreek.org/clear.gifGeneral Woodworking and Power Tools (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/forumdisplay.php?f=3)

This above forum seems to be 90% power tools and and 10% woodworking. Is it posible to separate the two?

Why? I didn't realize the two were mutually exclusive. Keep it the way it is.

I have no problem with the way it is now. Seems like we already have more forums then you can shake a stick at.

I appreciate not wanting to sift through a bin of washers to find a nut. Unfortunately, many "nuts" are buried under vague titles. Clear, to-the-point titles on posts help everyone and lessen the need for further breakdown of forums. For me, it's not a problem to skip past posts that--from their titles--are clearly of no interest. Having said that, I have interest in woodworking that employs both powered tools and handtools, and don't mind having a single, inclusive forum.

Keep it the same.
I like it the way it is.

While I can understand why the question is raised, it's unlikely that SMC would elect to try and "split" the type of discussion and create yet another forum area. The real solution is for more folks to post project oriented threads... ;)

But just the same, if you visit most any online forum for woodworking, you'l generally find the same thing. We happen to provide for a separate area for "Neander" (hand-tool) users and even there, a large portion of the discussion is tool-oriented. Nature of the beast...
