Finishing books

Howdy everyone. I'm looking for a very comprehensive tome on finishing. I'm looking for something that gives the ins and outs of the process as well as the techniques. The only one I've had a chance to peruse through is the Taunton's Press book by Jewitt. Any other recommendations?

The Jewitt book is fine. Probably the best book in terms of providing understanding of what is going on, as opposed to having good recipes, in Flexner Understanding Wood Finishing.
