Working on a gift (jewelry box) for my daughter. Looking for ideas on finishing this particular kind of wood. Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

Straight BLO and shellac topcoat or maybe pop the figure with a dye stain and shellac topcoat (maybe French Polish). These come immediately to mind.
