I ordered this jig from Amazon to use on my Tormek. Amazon was selling it $20 cheaper than any other source I found and with free shipping. I suspect the one I received was a return as the box looked a little beat up and there was no user manual. I'm hesitant to return it to Amazon because they now show it as out-of-stock. I've search the Jet websites and there is no online manual available. A Google search found a few reviews that discuss how the jig is used. They were helpful, but not as good as a manual would be.

So my question - if you have this jig can you scan the manual?

Thanks,

I don't have this jig, but I will be getting it someday.
I only use a straight blade in my planes when the object being planed is narrower than the plane itself, otherwise a camber is needed.

I found a kool video that shows this jig being used. It beats reading the instructions!:D

Bottom left of this page has two options, Dial-up or Broadband. Very nice demo, and simple straight forward explanation.

I don't have the exact web-page for a video on camber, and how much is needed for each different plane blade, but the following page has a link to the camber page.
The site right now is experiencing difficulties.

Thanks for the links. I had found the JoeWoodworker page and video and that's what I've used to figure out how this jig works. So far I've sharpened four blades with it. The first didn't turn out so well - the camber wasn't even from side to side. The second two were much better so I think I will go back and redo my first attempts. The jig is actually very simple in design and function so it's really just an issue of gaining some experience with it.

I've notice the Amazon price was down to $75 yesterday compared to $99 everywhere else I've checked.

Good luck,

Thanks for the price info.

I noticed that the jig required some timing as to when to tilt it, so I am sure that the more you use it, the better you will get.
