I'm trying to decide between the two of these, dust collection is very important in my choice. Does anyone have any experience/suggestions with either of these?

neither, try getting the 6" bosch 1250devs.

I've got the Makita; I got it cheap and it works well. The dust cannister can be removed so that the sander can be connected to a vacuum via a 1" hose like the one Porter-Cable sells; or with an adapter hook it to a 1 1/2" hose. With a vacuum the dust collection is good.
