I'm making a desk to match the piece below for my daughter's bedroom. I need to get the colors right. It's hard maple and probably dyed the 2 different colors. One is sort of cranberry and the other is near what most refer to as "country pine".

How would you go about selecting/mixing the appropriate dyes to get those colors? Also, can anyone guess at which finish process was used? The pic is of an armoire made by Ethan Allen.

Thanks!

You'll spend far more time trying to match the colors than you will to construct the piece. Do yourself a favor and don't try. Make the new piece something related, but not "matching".

I'll second Jamie's suggestion. You are unlikely to get an exact match even if Ethan Allen still carried the exact in colors with precisely the same name.

And we have a "third".........
