I am about to start some isoloc joinery and I will be using solid carbid upcut spiral bits. I have read on this forum now and then about router speed and safety, but I have never read about what speed makes the cleanest cut with the least tearout.

I assume with a bit like the 5/16 upcut spriral it will not fly apart with faster router speeds, but do faster speeds create a cleaner cut and less tear out?

I do run the router at slower speeds in the router table when using bigger bits like a raised panel bit, but what speeds are recommended for various types of router bits.

Thanks

I can not really answer the question but here is a link to a write up from Tom Hintz on his site.
