Delta TS350 Blade Guard/Splitter

I just swapped a small bench top table saw for a Delta TS350. I think I got a good deal and the saw performs well. I'm going to be using it to build a bunch of cabinets for my living room. My problem is with the blade guard/splitter. The design sucks and it keeps going out of alignment. Other than putting the blade guard in the garbage, does anyone have any other ideas? I could purchase some hold down rollers or feather board type hold downs but I'm wondering if there are any after market blade guards or splitters for this saw??? If anyone has any advice, I'd really appreciate it:confused: .

You might wnat to contact Lee Styron at "Sharkguard", I think he is a regular reader/poster on this forum and see if he has one for your saw.
If he does have one for it, buy it, it is a very good upgrade and safety
item that will improve the performance of your saw in several ways.

I have one and I like it, well worth the cost, and would not even consider
using the stock one again after buying this one. Jim Heffner

Thanks, I contacted Lee and he is in the process of designing a guard for this saw. In the meantime, I'm thinking of chucking the one that came with the saw and using board buddy rollers and a new zero clearance insert with a splitter. Does that sound reasonable?

Adam, I hope that Lee can come up with a sharkguard and splitter for your saw. As to the board buddies and the zero clearance insert and pop up splitter....this may be a good alternative to your problem for now. I haven't used either one of those items, so I can't comment on them...but they make be ok. I have used a hold down system from Sears...a long springy strip of metal attached to an auxilary rip fence that works pretty
good and not too expensive either. Jim Heffner
